The Judge Abdul Fattah Murad wants to block my blog because of this poem. What do you think? He is accusing me of contempting Islam. I am a Muslim and I am proud of this. However, I will never agree with your shameful practices against my friend Kareem Amer. Clear?

Dear freedom fighter,
I like your poem in arabic. The judge has nothing on you if the poem is the only thing he is making a big fuss about. However, the English translation does not do justice to the Arabic version and could be incriminating. There are two issues with the English translation. The first issue is with the following lines,
I am the worshiper of truth.
I am the worshiper of peace.
Egypt is my mosque.
The sun is my Kibla [direction of prayer]
The translation above makes you sound like a yazidi. I know that was not your intention but the judge could get you on that. The Arabic is clear and the ikhwan won’t have trouble defend it either, but the English translation is as said, incriminating. Therefore if you permit, I would like to suggest the following translation.
I am one of the servants of the bestower of truth
and also the servant of the bestower of peace.
All of egypt is my sanctuary.
And the radiance of the truth is my qiblah.
The second issue I had was the translation of the following words,
الذل
and
المهين
Again if you permit me, I would like to suggest the following translation
O' slaves of wretchedness and abject weakness.
I think with those changes, you would not be into trouble with the English translation.
I also wanted to tell you to be more diplomatic in your writings, especially when it comes to Kareem; but after reading the poem, I know I can’t ask for that. So, please be careful and stay safe.
Ahmed
IRC President,

Dalia,
I am happy to see that you were able to utilize the suggestions. As for being diplomatic, you are always diplomatic. I was just saying to be more diplomatic than than the usuall when it came to people like this judge.
I think the question about why he(the judge) is after you and other innocent bloggers is very easy to answer. My personal opinion on the matter is that the man works for the NSS of egypt. From my recent reading of his profile and his accusations, there is no way he could have done that much research on all of you guys if he was not being helped by professionals. I also think the reason they target people like you, manal & alaa, the human rights in arabic, is that you guys speak up for the truth, defending both freedom of religion and thought.
The judge and the people who order him don't want you to do that and thus accuse you of unsubtantiated claims. At the moment, the judge knows that associating you with kareem will make most egyptian biased against you, so he fabricates this ridiclous accusation of contempting Islam.
Moreover, I want point out one thing thing that shows you truly love and respect Islam and that what judge is commitingis a grave error.
Point 1) On Tuesday, March 13, 2007 you posted a blog titled:
"Regarding Secular Muslims Declaration ERROR"
That blog entry showed that you did not want to be associate yourself with people who have "hatered" for Islam and that you might make mistakes . Moreover, the entry also showed that you associated yourself with the principles of tolerance and freedom which are central to the faith of Islam. Therefore, with those point being true, I think it will suffice to mention this verse from the Holy quran .
to demonstrate that the judge is committing egregious error.
I hope the judge sees the error of his ways and repents.
Stay safe
God Bless America,
Many thanks for your argument. Why do not you come to Egypt to represent me before court and defend me ;)
ya Sayediti,
I would love represent and defend you in a court. But in a case like yours and in an egyptian court, you need to have is a mu7ami who is well versed in Islamic law ( I am not) and repeatedly says, "ta7ya masr, ta7ya masr" (my motto is god bless America) after every sentence. I think the judge will have to dismiss the case when he is faced with a mu7ami who loves his country and knows his deen defending an oustanding muslima :D.
Btw, God forbid that you are called to the court and accused of contempt for Islam, make sure to say that the accuser is 3ameel for the kayan al sihyuni. Your proof , he is helping the kayan al sihyuni by causing fitnah and destroying the image of egypt around the world by accusing an upstanding egyptian muslima ;).
Stay safe

Dear Dalia,
I have already decided not to post more comments in your blog, becasue of some debate that happened and I usually rather staying aside of any place I could be defamed irresposibly. Also, I was very busy the last few weeks, and still am.
but actually when I read that post, i was like, oh God, that can't be true.
I read about this guy, who called him a jugde, and do not know about all the cases he is in.
your poem, contempting? come on.
it is really now anybody can say anything and accuse people of what is really in him/her (wallaho a3lam be bawaten el a2moor)
it is way different than kareem case, if we assume they have the right to accuse him.
and it is not about your Hijab or something like that, this guy maybe have not seen you, or even read that poem.
that's why they wanted to retiremnet age for jidges to be 70 to keep such puppet judges to rule with what they got dictated.
May ALLAH be with you, bless you, and guid you always to the right path, and keep you safe.
داليا

Dear Anonymous,
I will assume that you do not have any negative intents by sending me this link. So, I will thank you from all my heart for this very interesting article. I really enjoyed reading it. I am also taken by the courage of Jill Carole, the author.
Thanks again,
Dalia
You're very brave. Good for you.
As an Egyptian man I'm proud to read your words, and share with you your thoughts. My dream is to see the Egyptian woman understand that there is no limit for here to achieve success and to be undependent. You show her the light in the tunnel. Time for Egyptian society to release the woman.
Go ahead Ziada ..
M. Ali Amin
more power to you, dalia. i hope everything works out. if it does not, there are many people paying attention who will do everything they can to support you.
You are an inspiration, Dalia. Admirers of your courage the whole world over will stand with you. You have the courage to do what is right for the simple reason that it is the right thing to do. I know of no person more righteous than you or a better example of a good and pious Muslim, a person whom Muslims and non-Muslims alike admire for your dedication to justice.
Dalia
One million rose for you. How can we support?
M.Ali Amin
Dalia,
You are a beacon of light in an ever darkening world. The beauty and grace with which you carry yourself and your message is an inspiration to us all. Godspeed and keep you safe. The world is watching, brave sister, and we've got your back.
K, in Los Angeles.
Hi Dalia.
Your poem is very nice. Don't worry even if matters get worse. All of us may have to pay a part of the price to see freedom of expression prevailing in Egypt. It seems it's your turn
I can clearly see the rebellion of Kareem in your poem as if it was written by the prisoner of conscienceness. Youtold me before that you don't care about my opinion in what you do. However, I dare say that the poem mat represent a positive turning point.
Keep the good effort.

I congratulate you, because of your courage and you seeking and love of truth, which is love for God.
I'm not a Muslim, and you will probably surprised of knowing who am I, but those who love and fight for the truth, they fight for God and themselves, and all or the real good of mankind.
May God bless you.
Dear anonymous,
Welcome to my weblog. Thank you so much for your nice words and kind pray to God to bless me.
Actually, I'm eager to know who you are. If you do not mind, can you please email me to tell me more about you? I promise that it will be a secret between me and you. My email is: daliaziada@gmail.com
Thanks again,
In love,
Dalia
In america we believe in freedom of speech and the freedom to choose religion. We are not perfect in anyway but we do have the right to be wrong!Say what you need to say!
I support your campaign to free Kareem and believe your cause is profoundly just. I am appalled that you are under threat as well for speaking your mind with your poem. I will support you if anything happens to you, G-d forbid.
Dear Dalia Ziada,
with all due respect, I'm an ex-muslim from an arab country and I don't agree with you that "islam doesn't punish those who leave the ideology of islam and that he is merely left to be judged by god". That's complete nonsense, historical accounts and reliable interpretations of the quran and hadiths make it clear that a Murtad must be killed. Muhammed killed critics and satirical poets and that's a historical fact. That's what islam is. Don't tell me that muhammed allowed apostasy and didn't do anything to apostaes because you'd be fooling yourself.
